Why Standing Stones?

Why Standing Stones?

In ancient Israel, people stood stones on their end to commemorate a powerful move of God in their lives. It was a memorial to something God spoke or revealed or did. Often these standing stones became reference points in their lives. Today, we can find reference points in the written Word of God. Any scripture or sermon can speak something powerful into our lives, or reveal something of the nature of God. In this blog I offer, what can become a reference point for Christians, taken from God's ancient word and applied to today's world.

Christian Fellowship Ministeries

Christian Fellowship Ministries (CFM) is a network of churches with a focus on evangelism, discipleship, and church planting. It is often associated with "The Potter's House" churches, which originated in Prescott, Arizona, under the leadership of Pastor Wayman Mitchell. The ministry emphasizes spreading the Christian faith through outreach, personal transformation, and building strong local church communities.

CFM is known for its global reach, with churches established in many countries. Its core values include preaching the gospel, making disciples, and sending out pastors to start new congregations. The ministry also places a strong emphasis on practical Bible teaching, worship, and fostering a sense of community among its members.

Christian Fellowship Ministries (CFM) distinguishes itself from other Christian ministries in several ways:

  1. Focus on Evangelism and Church Planting: CFM places a strong emphasis on outreach and establishing new churches. Their vision is to impact communities worldwide through evangelism and discipleship, often adopting a "whatever it takes" mentality to fulfill their mission.

  2. Tailored Discipleship Programs: They offer structured discipleship programs designed to address the specific needs of believers, visitors, and even non-believers. This personalized approach helps members discover and utilize their unique gifts for ministry.

  3. Accountability and Commitment: CFM encourages members to take an active role in their spiritual growth and the church's mission. They provide foundational classes and a "Membership Covenant" to outline responsibilities and foster accountability.

  4. Practical Christianity: The ministry emphasizes living out faith in daily life, focusing on five key tasks modeled by the early church: discipleship, fellowship, worship, ministry, and outreach.

  5. Global Vision: CFM actively involves its members in world evangelism, offering opportunities to participate in overseas missions and support international outreach efforts.

These distinctives set CFM apart as a ministry deeply committed to both local and global impact. Would you like to explore any of these aspects further?
